ALUMNI UPDATES
June 6.2003
The annual ALUMNI Banquet was held at the Camillus Elks Club. As usual
there were a lot of folks there. with a bonus amount for the class of
'63. It was their 40th anniversary. Gary Polmanteer, Kathy Hannam
Tamblin and Kathy McCarthy Wallace did a great job getting in touch with
folks. Kathy Wallace made a great memory board as a tribute to the Class
of '63. I am hoping someone took a picture of it or that Kathy still has
it so a picture can be taken. I think it should be in the Photo Gallery.
Anyway...after a fine buffet dinner and dessert there was "the meeting."
Minutes were read and reports were given and the election was held. Gary
Polmanteer is the new president, with Betty Wilcox and Nancy Weslowski
holding the positions of secretary and treasurer. Gary won a graduate
teddy bear and he said it will now be his office mascot so we will see
them both next year. We are hoping to have as good or better turnout
next year. The ALUMNI BANQUET is posted in the paper and we mail out
information. PLEASE...if you know anyone that went to Jordan or Elbridge
or both PLEASE tell them about the banquet. It is for all students, not
just the ";old folks". This is also YOUR ALUMNI. COME VISIT NEXT YEAR.
This function is usually held the first Saturday of June. See you in
2004.
After a fine meal and a meeting there were photos being taken all over.
There was a professional photographer there and took pictures of "your
class" and everyone had a chance to purchase a print for a small fee. I
am looking forward to getting ours in the mail soon.
To soon for good-byes the Class of '63 went to Victors Inn in Camillus
where we had a room and tables set aside. We had snack trays and a very
nice cocktail waitress. At closing time plans had been started for
another get together. Hopefully it won't be such a long time between
visits.
Talk to you all soon. Best to all. Patty
July 17, 2003 Well, it
has sure been a crazy summer so far. Hot one day chilly the next. They
say if you don't like the weather just wait 5 minutes. More truth than
fiction. Gary and I ran into Betty Wilcox at the Big M in Elbridge the
other afternoon. Thank goodness we didn't hurt her (to bad ;-} .) We got
to talking about the Alumni and the banquet and the web sight. We asked
Betty if there was a list of the scholarship winners for the year 2002
and she told me that there was and she will send us the information as
soon as she gets a chance. Then we can put in on this lovely little
sight and people will have something new to read. That would be good for
everyone. So far there has been no input of information from anyone out
there. Is there anyone out
there?? No pictures, no past thoughts or memories, no little tales out
of school. Come on people...I know someone out there has SOMETHING worth
printing. If you are worried about your photos being cared for don't, I
PROMISE I will care for them and return them as soon as I scan them.
Most likely it will be by the very next day. Also...please feel free to
post in the guestbook. That's the only way we can find out who's out
there. Remember, this is not MY web sight, it is ours, members of the
Jordan Elbridge Schools. Please input! Looking forward to seeing
you at the Fall Festival in September. If anyone plans to attend feel
free to post it in the guestbook, along with when you plan to go.
If anyone has any suggestions for getting together at
that time please post that also. Or you can email either Gary or myself.
Emails are; Gary
hotpeterpiper@aol.com and mine (Pat) is
pattiecakes999@aol.com. We
also have email at
Gary@jordanelbridgealumni.com or
pattiecakes@jordanelbridgealumni.com . Feel free to drop us a line
on anything note worthy. New kids, marriages, grandchildren, going to
jail without a get out of jail free card (hehehe, I just slay myself
sometimes), you get the drift. Friends in the past, friends in the now.
It can't happen one sided.
Well, That's enough for now. I guess I have rambled on
long enough. Gotta close. The best to you and yours.

October 18, 2003 Well, I am sorry that I have not updated this in
awhile. I am trying to "multi-task" and I guess I picked up to much. We
are getting ready to head south for the winter but we will have the
computer with us. I will try to get information about the Fall Festival
in here before the next one rolls around. Right now I am trying to
figure out how to add more photos to the "Blast..." page. Be patient
please...remember we are both new at this web site stuff. That's all for
now. Keep checking...and send me photos or "tall tales". Help me to keep
the site going.
Patty & Gary December 31, 2003 Talk about slow...I guess
that could describe me to a tee at times. As quick as I can on the Fest
(and as much as I can remember haha). The weather was wonderful this
year! We ran into far to few friends there this year, less than
normally in fact. Betty Wilcox was at the booth ( best place to find her
;-). Finally met Maureen Doyle and we had a chance to chat for about 30
seconds. She seems to be a busy woman. I forgot my camera so there will
be no pictures until Fall 2004. The donuts were hot and great with the
cider if you could catch them BEFORE they ran out or limited you to only
1 dozen at a time. The pulled pork and the ham sandwiches were real
favorites with the crowd as were the chicken dinners. Gary and I and Ray
and Kathy Tamblin were there every night watching, looking and
listening. Everyone seemed to have a great, fun filled time. When we get
back to NY from our little winter vacation I am going to try to get a
hold of Betty W. for a list of names and amounts of the scholarships
handed out.
Until the next posting I want to wish everyone the best of the New Year
and a safe New Years Eve. Here is to 2003 and looking forward to a great
2004
Patty and Gary June 11,2005
WELL...where did 2004 go? I can't believe I didn't update anything! What
the heck. Well, I promise to try to do better. And here I am doing
better already! Heck, last year was a "no post" and here it is, "half
time" for 2005 and I am posting already. I will add more next week at
some point (or at least try to) so keep coming back.....PLEASE .
On June 6, 2005 I received an email from Debra S. Goddard. She asked me
if I would post the following on our site. I told her it would come at a
cost. I would like to be able to have a letter from me on behalf of the
Alumni, explaining to her group that the Alumni is for everyone, not
just a select few and that we need people from all the classes. She said
she would so here is her information.

June 6,2007
Well, here we are again. Another year has come and gone. It seems to go
by faster and faster. Must be the "age thing". It has been a full year
for us and I am sure for all of you also. We have lost old and dear
friends and made new ones. We have gotten 2 new
great-grandchildren (both girls) and watched another grandson get
engaged. There have been visits to the doctors ( as with everyone that
is breathing) and just friends to visit. We had a great Alumni Banquet
again. There were over 130 people in attendance. And for the first time
that I can remember....a recipient of one of the Alumni scholarships
from this school year was in attendance. Her name is
ASHLEY JATON. She was there with her escort Brian Murray. Brian also
graduated from J-E in 2006. We also had a very special
presentation. One of our alumnus received a crystal angel pin in
celebration of her Diamond Jubilee. Believe it or not
Harriet Dean has been out of school 75 years. Way to go
young lady. Congratulations!!
And the Class of 1957 celebrated their 50th year anniversary..
Well, that's enough for now. Will try to "dig up" more through the year.
All the best and see you at next years banquet.
