From The Desk of The President
This year our annual banquet was a big success. We had a near capacity crowd with a good mix of Alumni from all three schools (Elbridge, Jordan and J-E. We are still trying to get the more recent classes to get involved but I guess we will have to wait and see if they will come around after they have a few years to think about what their school meant to them. We need you all to keep us updated with your personal information so we can keep our address book updated. We try to send out invitations to all who are celebrating an anniversary year and those who attend on a yearly basis but it’s impossible to send out invites to all due to the cost of postage. Just remember the Banquet is always held on the first Saturday of June and if you don't receive an invitation you can reach me by email and I will help you make reservations. This year we gave out five scholarships and we need your support to continue this program. As you all have heard our School is in a bit of turmoil at this time but I am sure all will be well soon and they can continue on with the same good educational programs we have enjoyed over the years.

Hello again. Well it appears winter is slowing down at home. We have been in the sunny south and will return to Memphis in about four weeks. If you have been keeping abreast of the JE saga in the newspaper you know that the school that we all know and love is having a lot of trouble right now. Most of us in my age group ( old) can remember all the turmoil we went through when our schools merged so we know that everything will be OK in time and they will work things out. I just hope that the new people will be willing to work with me as we try to rebuild our Alumni Association. We depend on you to survive so think about planning your individual class re-unions on the same weekend of The Alumni Banquet you could attend our dinner and meeting. We have been having trouble getting addresses for the more recent Alumni. You can get in touch with Betty Wilcox at 315 689 3757 or Nancy Weslowski at 315 689 9541. They can add you to the mailing list or take your reservations on the phone. Remember because of the cost of postage Its impossible to send Invitations to everyone. We try to send them to those who are having an anniversary like five-ten-fifteen etc. year intervals but you are all urged to attend every year as you never know who will be there. Our scholarship program depends on you. Last year we gave out five six-hundred dollar scholarships. We would like to increase the amount and number of them but we need your help So make plans for this years Banquet now. It will be as always the first Saturday of June. The fourth to be exact. SO SEE YOU THERE. Remember before we get to where we are going we have to remember where we have been. Looking forward to seeing all the old faces and many more new ones. Gary P.
